This is an old song, these are old blues

I don't know where my life is going right now, or what I'm doing. As usual, I can't seem to prioritize correctly.

I want to be taught about all the music, all the stuff I'm missing. I like lying on mattresses under blankets and hearing it all.

I forgot I kind of like Rilo Kiley.

How can my heart feel so good when I'm not doing anything right? I'm doing everything I want, and nothing I need to do.

How can I feel so happy when I'm wasting everything I came here for?

I have so many of the aspects of college that you're supposed to. Good friends, people to be myself with, good music, people who love me.

I don't have any of the things that are supposed to go along with that. I don't have the discipline to sit down and do work. I don't have the self-motivation to get up and go to class. But it doesn't bother me too much.

I'm too concerned about lying in blankets feeling peaceful and beautiful. I'm too involved in entertaining, being entertained, being a free spirit and a fuck-up.

And I constantly think that maybe college, in the academical sense, isn't for me.

But then what? I'm completely devoid of talents and interests that would allow me to be "successful" without the aid of a college degree. I'm not in a band that's going somewhere, I don't act, I don't have a record label or a magazine. And I don't have the means to start one, not to mention the know-how, skills, or ideas.

So the only obvious option is to continue struggling through this bullshit for the next three and a half years. But I don't know if I can. Or if I want to.

I'm just so spacey and contemplative and I don't think any further into the future than next week.

And I probably never will.
