So the sweet potato rolls turned out quite well. I am looking forward to making them again for Christmas dinner.
Thanksgiving weekend was really wonderful. We just had my sister and her boyfriend over for dinner on thanksgiving, so there was no stress over making sure the house was spotless or the kids were on their best behavior - we just had a nicer than normal dinner and then hung out for a while afterwards. So much less stress than having to drive somewhere and manage the kids and all that. It was a little sad that we didn't see more of our family this year but honestly it was one of the most relaxed and easy thanksgivings we've ever had, even taking into account all the cooking I did.
Then on Friday we went out and scored a great deal on a new sleeper-sofa for the guest room. I am sort of worried that it wont' actually fit in there due to it being much bigger than what I had planned on getting, but whatever. It's going to be delivered tomorrow and if it doesn't fit then I'll just put it in the living room and get rid of this nasty sectional that I hate. It serves the purpose I guess but it's so not my style (maroon chenille with back pillows covered with 80's style geometric patterns, ugh). It would be great to have an excuse to get rid of it, especially considering that it's starting to fall apart.
Afterwards I went thrifting and I found two pairs of gymboree pants in Leif's size, a pair of pants and a new sweater for Mila, a heavy-duty winter coat for Leif, a sweater for myself, and a changing table for the new baby that is basically brand new, all for less than $20. I love thrift stores.
When I was in the shower today Mila took a full box of panty-liners and spread them all over the living room. Thankfully she did not pull the backs off of them so I didn't have to throw them out, just collect them all back up.
