Like Whoa!

I cant believe it's already the end of March.  Time flies when you're having fun.  Ok, so I work for CUNY, a huge university in NYC, so naturally, I applied to two of their grad schools.  Well,  I got some disappointing news recently: those two grad schools  rejected me.  I got a letter from one about 2 weeks ago, and the other letter I received a couple of days ago.  I guess my pride took a beating because I feel like 'How come I cant even get into CUNY grad schools when I work for CUNY?'  It hurts.  I mean, these are MFA programs for Creative Writing. I know that both of them were highly competitive and selective, but I feel so let down.  Damn.  My overall GPA when I graduated from Eastern was a 3.6, and my overall average for my major is about a 3.7 or 3.8, and I know my profs wrote crazy good recommendation letters on my behalf, as well as my writing samples and personal statement. I dont know, I guess those schools just werent in the books for me...at least not this year. It's way too late to apply to the ivy league grad programs, as their program deadlines have already passed some time ago.  I did, however, find 2 more grad programs to apply to: one is Long Island University in Long Island, NYC and the other is another CUNY grad school.  The deadlines for these programs havent passed so I still have some time, but I know, the sooner the better.  Actually, something my co-worker told me from personal experience really made me think.  She said that a lot of these grad schools work in this way: when they're accepting applications for a program, once they fill their quota, they dont look at anymore future applicants, even if these applicants might file before the deadline and qualify.  Now, it makes me wonder whether I could have been one of those unlucky ones.  I dunno, does it even matter now anyway?

Anyhooz, on a brighter note, I am going to 3 weddings this Spring/Summer: one in May (Lizabeast and Timmy---yay!), one in June (my friend Thea from college), and one in July (my second mommy).  I am so excited.  I have to be a girl now and figure out what I am going to wear.  Hahahahah.  I think I'm going to get my nails done and my toes done for these three events, something I have only done once in my life previously.

Ok, so I think I'm going to Miami in 2 weeks with some friends from work.  Yeah, prolly one of the most random things I am going to do.  I'm also going skydiving in the summer with friends from home and work. Anyone else wanna come, feel free to join us!  The bigger the group, the bigger the group discount! Yeah!
