RIP Uncle Owen

My uncle died today.

I came home early today, and my aunt called and broke the news.  Jamaican families arent known for their intimacy or affection, but they care deeply for their own.  I wasnt close to my uncle by a long shot, but my grandmother, and my mom and her sisters knew him better than I did.  He was having kidney problems from ever since I can remember him.  He was on a dialysis machine for a while.  He'd gotten better for a short period of time, but never 100%, always going back and forth in the hospital.  This morning, him and his son, my cousin, whom I barely know either, went to the ER because my uncle was feeling a strong pain in his chest that prolonged since the night before.  Suddenly, in the hospital, he collapsed; the doctors tried to revive him---to no avail.  I had to tell my mom the news, prolly one of the most hardest things I had to do.  When I told her, she was shocked, and I think she still is to a certain degree. My other aunts who called our house were not in the greatest shape.  My aunt Donnet was crying, and my other aunt Ava was in slight denial.  My grandmom is going to take it the hardest though, because she just spoke to  my uncle a couple of days ago, and he seemed to be doing fine.  Poor grandmom.  I can imagine we're going to be going to the funeral by the end of the week.  This is going to be my first official funeral attendance.
