Ooooh, today was a delicious day. Tuesdays are internship day. It's quite a transition from going to Norton for three days in a row for the past three weeks and then only going once a week. Anyway, got to work, and got on the elevator with a black guy with dread locks. Didnt pay much attention to him because I just didnt, I guess.
Now, I dont know if I'm the only weird one here, but is it me or does uncomfortable silence in an elevator with strangers spook u out? Well, I love to talk. U all know that. But there's something about being in an elevator with total strangers and letting silence ensue for more than a second that's so creepy to me. I guess I feel obliged to talk to them because we're sharing the same small space. Weird.
Anyway, so I'm back on the elevator. As soon as we ascent, I feel the "weird silence" in the air, threatening to strangle me. Luckily, the elevator takes its passengers to their destination very quickly. As the sixth floor came, I became more aware of the black guy. When the doors are about to open, he turns to me and says, "Have a good day." I look over at him and almost pass out. HE WAS FINE AS HELL, LADIES!!!!! He's the kind of fine that makes u wanna just say all the dirty French phrases! As I tried to hold back horny gasps, I quickly noticed his nice-looking tie, and I blurted, "Thank you, have a nice day too." In the midst of the blur, I think I smiled as I said this. From the time I got off the elevator to the time I arrived at my desk, I sported a naughty, giddy smile. He sure made my day. God Bless him.
I am bonding very nicely with one of my fellow German interns. Her name is Katherina and she's a sweetheart. Unbeknowst to my boss, I sneaked into Katherina's intern room and spoke to her for like half an hour. I didnt care because I work the full day now so I am entitled to little breaks at a time, and so is Katherina. We talked about travelling, Germany, our families, the British royal family blunder in which Prince Harry made himself look like the biggest asshole in history with the whole Nazi costume ordeal. We exchanged e-mails and we have made it a point to go out to lunch together when we work on the same day. She's only doing the Norton internship until March, then she's heading back to Hamburg, Germany where she can further gain experience in the publishing field. It's so funny that we shared e-mails today because the other day, I was thinking, "I want to get to know her." And Voila, now we will be able to. I just enjoy meeting people from all over. A lot of my friends in NYC dont have a lot of friends outside of their race, but I am the proud exception. I would embrace the world if I could.
