Why do some girls insist on trying to be cute in this snowy weather by wearing their stilettos and fashion boots? That answer is beyond me.
Anyway, the Norton internship is going good. Meeting more interns. Most of the interns there since September will be gone by the end of this month. Actually, I came in today, and none of the ones from September were there. Kind of a relief because they hogged the computers a lot. Met another German, Katarina and a girl from California, Patrina. She has a Malawian boyfriend. We're all the new bunch and we mesh very well. Also met some other intern last week....cant remember his name for the life of me. His parents are from Ethiopa. Good stuff. I had to write a rough draft pitch letter for my boss about a Norton published book coming out this March. The book is called THE WORLD: 1950-2000 by Jan Morris. It's a bunch of travel essays, and it's awesome. My boss let me keep the copy. It's an awesome book and I recommend it to everyone. U learn so much about the history of the past five decades, yet it's rich in her personal experiences with people, culture, ideals, etc. Unfortunately, I had to do a lot of skimming in the book because I waited to start reading the book on Saturday and the pitch letter was due today. Oh, did I tell u that the book is 440 pages long? Basically, I stood up most of last night finishing the book and writing the pitch letter. Dont worry, Ms. Keeks has learned her lesson: try to not to put off procrastinating too late.
I got the teaching job at the private school my pastor's daughter works at. I am going in this Thursday to talk to the principal and mesh out all of the necessary details. I am so happy because right now, as we speak, Ms. Keeks has about $15 in her checkings account and barely has fare to go to and from her internship. This will guarantee money flow to the end of June, I can continue payments on my school loans, and I can help my parents out with the bills. I feel so guilty not paying a cent as the months go by. They're so good about it, though.
Also, I have time after I come home from my internship to do some other stuff I have wanted to do for a long time: write, and organize all my writing crap. Feels so good to get back in the process of getting in tune with Keeks, the writer. Havent done that since like forever. Blah. Should go to bed soon before I pass out from sleep deprivation. Oh well. Ta for now.
