The Shinigami manage the souls in the human world. When a human dies, we send their soul into Seireitei or Hell. But... if we don't get there in time, they turn into Hollows. Hollows are souls who have their hearts twisted with despair, or have stayed in the real world for too long. Our job would then be to defeat them, and then send their purified souls into Seireitei.

I was a warrior back in my world. But, I'm not sure if I can battle all of the nasty things here. I'm used to fighting robots, after all...

Yes. Nasty things, they rampage and destroy, and care nothing for the "fleshlings" they destroy the lives of. I help stop their rampage.

THEY'RE the ones that sent the robots to kill us! Yes, we have Humans, and we want to bring them down!

I'm not angry at anyone that isn't involved, though, so don't worry. ^^
