The lake is closest to my shop and where I get my Chao's fruit so I'll keep going there.

True, it is closer, but...if we're at risk of that THING touching us like that, I'd rather go the distance to the river.

Why can you only get fruit for your Chao there?

It's actually safer to take a common route until it proves unsafe.

There's an orchard right by the lake. Canned fruit isn't good for Chao.
