I'm forcing myself not to be sad that the next auction will be the last. A simple thank you for all the hours you've put into this endeavor just doesn't cut it. When I start to think about the tremendous positive impact this has had on fandom and the incredible sum raised for various charities, I can't help getting verklempt.

I have some idea how much work it takes. I am definitely interested in looking into running something similar; I've been thinking about it for a while, and I have the web skills...but I need to look into the legalities.

I'd like to set it up as a registered charity to resolve the paypal issue but I don't know if that's feasible. Must do research.

The March auction will be my fifth stint on the Sweet Charity train, and it's been a privilege to be involved with this incredible project.

Sweet Charity has allowed me to temporarily launch an essentially selfish predilection to far loftier places, and distils fandom in general down to its most pure and admirable concentrate.

Your tireless backstage machinations and good humor in the face of adversity have been inspiring. I think probably the best way to thank you is make sure I continue to participate in passionately run projects that benefit others.

But applause is good stuff, too. So...
