grandpa bob
wednesday i got home from work and checked my phone and there was a message from my mom saying to call her as soon as i got it because she had news. jason said "it's probably granpa don." and i said.."i think it's my grandpa bob." when i called my mom she said it was grandpa bob and that his heart was slowing down causing his body to shut down and the doctors said he had 24 hours to live. so my parents addie and i left for colorado wednesday night at 11pm. my mom was positive we would make it before he died. she wanted to pray with him and see him one last time (this is her step-dad, but more of a dad to her when she was a kid than her real dad). we were in lincoln ne when her sister called and said he died. he made 22 of the 24 hours given to him. he called my mom saturday night because he wanted to tell her he was thinking of her and he loved her very much. i think he knew it was time. so here i sit in colorado waiting for monday to come so i can say goodbye to one of the greatest men i ever knew. i know he would've loved my daughter in a way no one else could. i wish he could've met her. i hope everything goes smoothly. if you pray, pray for me and my family. this will be a rough one.
