Last week’s events are still shocking and unbelievable. I love Pantera but didn’t have a chance to check out Damageplan or Superjoint Ritual. I was preoccupied with another band. I always think there will be time. I made that mistake with Stevie Ray Vaughan. But what I find really freaky is the fact that it took place December 8th. That might not mean anything to some people but 24 years ago on December 8th a psychopath murdered John Lennon - the man I would later regard as the best. I remember the news coverage and candlelight vigils. I was only 10 so it didn’t really hit me that the world would never be the same. I believe he was the first celebrity murdered by a “fan”/psycho wing nut. And how many since? Is it worth it? Although it would suck if everyone quit just because they are afraid. Dime and John lived their dream. How many of us can say that? Don’t be afraid, just live. There is not always time - tell your family and friends even your favorite band that you love them the next time you see them.
