Well, it's just after 2 am, and I just got back from seeing Moulin Rouge (I'm so sorry we saw it without you Anca!). I liked it, but I must say that I am still undecisive about it. I guess it just has me thinking. I mean, I honestly did enjoy it, but it was just so strange! Even stranger than I thought it would be. And humorous when I'm not certain whether or not that was the director's intention. I'm just very surprised that it has had such wonderful reviews considering how weird it is. But then, as Alena pointed out, the critics loved Eyes Wide Shut, which was another really weird one. One thing I can't get over about the movie was the singing (yes, the singing! This movie is a musical don't you know). Their voices are just absolutely incredible, and as far as I know none of the actors are professional singers. At least the leads aren't. But their voices were goregous, and the songs they sang were beautiful. The storyline was pretty basic I suppose, but the dancing and the cinematography were both incredible. Baz Lurmahn (sp) is absolutely crazy, let me tell you. But it was that craziness that made it fascinating. I bet that if I saw it again, I would find something new; there was so much going on it was impossible to see it all. So that's all I have to say. Did I like the movie? Yes. Was it strange? Definitely. But most of all it was intrigueing, and that's what probably makes it such a good movie. Well, good night for now!
