Time square!

It was awesome! I wasn't even drunk...though most people probably thought I was. Actually I think we were the only 4 people there that didn't have any alcohol for New Years. I still had a lot of fun, met a lot of really great people I'll never talk to again, it's all part of the fun.

What it's like: We got there about 4:30. They had not yet opened the streets so people were crammed on the side-walk. Now when I say crammed, I don't mean "oh my god, someone is touching me" I mean If I could lift my feet up, i wouldn't fall down. I mean that you could lean in any direction and you wouldn't move at all. Some really scary mexican dude that was like 5ft nuthin was flat up against my butt and definitely had his hands under my shirt.
Then there were people (like us) who actually had a destination. I did really good, weaving my way through the crowds until it was absolutely impossible to move any more. about 50 ft from where we were supposed to end up. Other peoplewere more clever in their attempt to make it through the crowd. One guy held up an empty pizza box and was yelling that he had a delivery to make. Several women said they were claustrophobic (yeah..time square was a good idea...) Another guy brought an empty U.S. mail box and said he had to make a delivery. Several women said they had to get to work... People are wonderful.
Kali and Patty eventually caught up to where I was and where i couldn't move anymore. Then you just kinda start talking to the people around you, about the weather or whether or not that was their hand on your ass. We met some air force dudes from NJ who kinda followed us around for the rest of the evening at time square.
When they opened the streets to the public it was a lot better. There was now less opportunity for suffocation. That's when we got to dance, look like idiots (ok maybe just me...that's why all the pictures of me will look drunken). It was really very cool. The confetti, fireworks, The ball is a lot smaller when you're there just cause it's soo high.
We got lucky with the weather, it was really nice and warm. The people around were generally really nice. I'd probably do it again, except i'd get a hotel room, cause the girl we stayed with was a grumpy gill.
Didn't really care to kiss anybody...found out i have a lamppost as competition for Ben. He leaves me nice drunken messages.
I'm happy to be home..my daddy has a cold..sue is away, christy is back at school and Ben is coming over for movies tonight. Can't wait to see where the year leads from here.
