well folks, it looks like i'll probably be evacuating new orleans again this year thanks to Gustav..i'm planning to leave tomorrow afternoon and driving to dallas, then gonna stay there for a couple of days to see how this all pans out.
i came into tulane with a hurricane now i'm leaving with one..
i'll find out in about 30 minutes for sure, but blahhh..
i really dont wanna live at home with my parents for my senior year. and my senior thesis?! oh dear.
just pray that it dies out before it hits the gulf coast. it's in haiti right now and they say it will be a category 2 when it enters the gulf (just like katrina) then it will probably pick up force becoming a category 4 at least with the Loop Current and the warm waters of the Gulf (like Katrina)..it's so bizarre that i'll be evacuating on the 3rd anniversary of Katrina..
louisiana's governor gave a press conference last night saying that he thinks he'll issue evacuation for friday, then they'll empty the hospitals on saturday since it's projected to hit sunday evening/monday morning.
these hurricane experiences have really been unique. i can't describe people during katrina's evacuation. there were no gas stations with gas and people just turned into animals.
tulane's seniors this year are considered the Katrina Class, so we are the only ones left who experienced it. the freshmen are running around panicking on their cell phones with their parents.
i guess the only positive thing about this is that the governor seems to have his act together somewhat this time around..
stay tuned for updates..
