went to my first football match here last night. it was sooo sweet. paris saint-germain against nancy. the final score was 0-0, but there were some pretty awesome near goals. adrian somehow got us really close seats right next to the goal so it was intense. there are only 2 more games before the league of champions goes on winter break so i think we are gonna go to one more pretty soon. i was watching the news this morning at his apartment and they showed the game and i felt famous for having been there lol. it doesn't take much to excite me these days.
i think we're going to see the new woody allen movie "puzzle" tonight. i either love or hate woody allen movies so we'll see.
there's another metro strike next week which i'm worried about because that means i'll have to pay for a taxi to make it to the airport for madrid on friday. they are striking because sarko changed the law to where french people have to work 40 years instead of 36 before retiring. heaven forbid he come up with a solution to their dwindling funds for social programs. jesus, if you want free healthcare work the extra 4 years. there's also a student strike starting next week so classes are cancelled indefinitely. we are apparently manifesting against corporations influencing our curriculum. two years ago there was the same kind of strike and classes were out for months. the tulane kids then still got credit for the year though, so i'm not too worried. there's like a strike every week because sarkozy is making all these social changes. i love sarko, i wish he would take me on as one of his many mistresses. those blue eyes just kill me. apparently he kissed some american ass last week at congress, which didn't make the french too happy. but then again, they are never happy unless they are criticizing.
