i figure i'll post for the first time in a super long time.
first of all, mr. y's class is owning everyone. if he knows
everyone's failing- wouldn't he try and help? of course not.
it's almost like it's his goal as a first year AP teacher is
to make the course as hard as he possibly can. it's sad that
my lowest grade is in environmental science.
on another note: i absolutely love my english class.
mrs. turley is such an amazing teacher. sometimes it's dis-
couraging to know that in caldwell's class some of my friends
have crazy 106.3 averages... yet at the same time, i get
so much out of my class. mrs. turley always has a new per-
spective, and the discussions are amazing. it never fails
to amaze me how diction and syntax can completely change
the mood of a passage. it also never fails to amaze me how
much irony and symbolism there is in literature. mrs.
turley's class definitely makes you go way beyond the surface
level, and it sure isn't easy- but i absolutely love it.
and again: here i am. since my sophomore year i have always
wondered if i would ever fill the shoes of my other captains,
and now the time is finally here. being captain is a ton of work,
yet i absolutely love it. we have a lot of kinks in our squad to
work out, and everyone seems to be on completely different
levels, but everyone has already improved even over the first
three practices. the girls are great and i love helping them.
this is something i seriously love doing- dancing, cheering,
teaching, and leading an entire group of girls every day.
our first game is monday, and i know i'll be impressed with
the girls' performance. congrats girls. you've made it this far
and you're constantly improving. christina and i are going to do
our best to make this the best year ever. : ]
there are always things to complain about, but i don't feel like
complaining at the moment. i know so many of you are having a hard
time this year, but keep at it. it's our last year, stick it out.
it's not worth dropping out and getting paid minimum wage the rest of
your life. a few more months and we get our diplomas and a chance to
start over. : ]
