mei zhou

so i'm now in mei zhou after 9 hours by plane to hong kong and 8 hours by bus to the concerned city. so far i'm doing ok but very grumpy because i hate family trip. i've two aunties with me and one uncle. 2 are from canada and one from mauritius. the one from mauritius is really a PIAO and we're sharing the same room (my brother from canada is there as well). the country side is really nice though, a bit like a hayao miyazaki's anime scene, with rice paddies (is this the right word???), red brick houses , oxes and endless mountains. i took a few pictures which i hope to upload in a near future on flickr. my batteries are always dying on me though and the chinese brand are as useless as the ones i brought from home (lasted 30 mins and then died..).

so far i think i'll buy only tea in china as i did not bring much cash and the only spot to exchange money is the bank. mei zhou although rarther developed is still a lost hole but the infrastructures could be compared to mauritius's city: port louis. i don't understand a heck of chinese and there's nothing in english there. my main places of interest are hong kong and bangkok where i'll splurge on lush, a new phone and some beauty products. my family and relatives are more keen to buy cheap crap from china (100 yuans a pair of shoes which is cheap compared to mauritiu's price but 1. it's made in china and 2. it's synthetic and cheap looking.) and unfortunately i'm the only one with more expensive taste. LOL i value quality over quantity. at least chinese tea is quite something.

i can't bear my aunt though. she's so stupid. this morning she and my mom and her other aunt invited their relatives to the restaiurant but did not bring any money . HOW STUPID IS THAT? if dad and us had not dropped by,they would have paid their bill by washing dishes??? in the end my dad paid.. i think my aunts're abusing of his money anyway because dad's always the one payingl i hope they'll refund what he's paying for me or at least propose to pay. pfff i love travelling but with relatives..ugh especially elderly aunties..and yesterday she forgot to close the hotel door! if i had not checked we would have slept with the door uncloked..jeezus PIAO

i hope i'll have some freedom to shop in BK and HK because i made a list of what i need to buy and refuse to compromise by going to cheap boring places because of them :P
