For years now I was been an Idol watcher. I have voted, contributed to their concerts along with albums. I have followed my favorite Idol Contestant through his career. And I have sat amazed at not only the talent, but the lack of talent that has come out year after year to audition.
But I have to say after nine-hard to believe-years. I am beginning to think its due time for idol to hang up their chops, put the mics to rest and retire the show. I just don't find it as entertaining as talented as exciting as it once was. I look back and think when did it get to be this way. When did I stop caring who won or even who gets eliminated?
It reminds me a lot of star search back when I was a kid. How it was the show to watch and slowly it got old.
The problem with shows like idol is this. Talent runs dry. Especially when you go to the same, or almost same locations year after year and have an age span of twelve years. Those people aren't going to have gone away, the ones you turned away are and will come back. And the ones that have the true talent. The ones that do deserve to be in the show have more in likely already come through, been on the show and have either done one of the few things: fallen off the face of the earth, came out with an album or have won the show all together. I can think of a few non winners that are far more memorable, and better than the winners.
And many of the winners I can't even remember.
And so tonight, I sit and watch not really caring who wins. And I wonder which category the contestants will fall under...
Or if I even care enough to remember them at all.
