It's almost that time of the year again. Yes folks, I am going back to school :) All the mess is cleared up and the head of the Drafting department was so mad when he saw that the transfer credits had been nixed last minute. Sooo I should be graduating in the fall with an Associate of Applied Science in Drafting Design.
On a brighter note I am totally psyched about going back to school! Thanks to getting into reenagting I found something that I truely love- talking to people about history. Yes it might be centered around the 40's and WWII, but it's a part of history that is being slowly cut out of text books and students lives. My next step? Get my History degree with either minoring in secondary education or photo journalism. I want to be able to teach when I decide I want my certification OR (as my dream job would be) to work at a histoic society, national memorial, museum, or..well..anything. I really, really, really want to go visit the National D-day memorial in Bedford. Still kind of bumed that I didn't get to go with the Rangers there...but I did get to educate a film maker that there were women war correspondents during WWII. That was a perk of the Oak Ridge trip XD
Speaking of reenacting- things are going just as awsome as ever. I love my friends over at the 5th Rangers and 501st PIR. It's so wonderful to be able to share a love for this period of history with like minds..plus some of them look pretty damn fine in uniform XD two perks to the hobby, people!
I'm going to be hosting a private tactical here in October at one of the farms. 20 people running through the backwaters of Hawkins County away from pretty much anything civilized is just going to be fucking awsome. That and in September, Lord and manager willing, I'm going to be heading up north for a 2ish day curise on a Liberty ship. Hate to ditch Conneaut D-day for it but..it's a once in a lifetime chance and I just can't pass it up.
Things at company_heroes seems to have died down while things at milliways_bar are picking up. I'm tempted to try pick something up over at CH mostly due to we are usually always active during the school year. *giggles* We have some really cool people there and I hate to see it get slow.
On the Milliways front we may be getting another para-pup *squees* Our Nixon, Winters, and Perco are awsome! Now if we could only get Babe-mun active and Buck into the bar. As well as others *shifty look* So much crack...I love it all.
