The return of my muse

I'm not exactly sure what I've written, but I definitely liked it. When I got to work today I was surprised to find myself analizing everything I saw as if I was writing it in a story. (well, more like reading it for me, because I'm notoriously bad at including detail.) I was in a half dreamlike state for half of my shift, then I went on break. Things got better. I wrote for my entire break, save for the time it took me to food. The stuff I was writing just felt so right. The elements I've been missing in my earlier stuff was finally there. I know what I have been missing... I've been missing the everyday mundane. My stories to seems real. I jump from conflict to conflict, using pressure to develop my characters, when the simple things can do this so much more effectively.

Thanks Josh, for letting me read your novella. I think that's what jumpstarted this hyper-sensitivity to detail. I definitely discovered that the truck stop is a rather interesting place, and that if I could somehow capture that essence in words, I would have a great starting point to develop a character. I just have so much running in my head right now. Ideas for an RP game for when we get back to school, Quest stuff, and the beginnings of that book idea that I wanted to start, but had no idea how to go about it.

My muse is back, folks! Maybe this time I'll write something worth reading...
