I've decided that everytime I post on Xanga, I'll just copy and paste the same entry here. So Happy 4th! I can't believe people actually camped on University Avenue just to see the parade. I mean, I can just walk the whole three minutes there and still see fine. LOL! Oh, it's been such a great weekend! On Saturday, Jeff, his friend Randall, my friend Larysa, and I went to hike Y Mountain . . . not just to the Y but to the very top, all 8568 feet. Such a fantastic view! The hike took about 3 1/2 hours from Jeff's place. We were planning to see the fireworks up there but then realized it would be pretty hard to climb down all the way in the dark so we headed back to the Y to see them. Randall neglected to tell anyone until the way down that he hates hiking! He hates being out where the shrubbery and green is! LOL! So he, being excited to leave the wilderness, sprinted all the way down and I followed him, partially because I kept sliding down fast anyway cause what little traction was left on my shoes dissappeared on the way up. We left Larysa and Jeff (who was a gentleman and stayed behind so Larysa wouldn't be left behind) far behind and we got to the Y in about an hour with aching knees. Jeff and Larysa never showed up. Needless to say, they accidentally left the trail, got lost, and had to stay the night while search and rescue hunted for them! How embarrassing . . . they even had search planes looking for them. So funny! I knew that they would be alright but as Josh said, Randall was a complete "pansy" and freaked out. It was as if Jeff and Larysa had died! Oh dear. Sunday morning I was called at 8:30 and Jeff and Larysa had been found on their way down. Hehehe.
