Fatherland all over again

Hey y'all, a year has passed and hence another China post!

HAINAN DAY #1
2 APRIL 2011

If you want to see it, here's last year's CHINA. You might find a lot of things familiar.

The day started early. My dad got the flight time wrong so we were an hour early for our flight. Note that i came back from UK only 3 days before so my sleeping patterns were still screwed up :/

Tradition: Macs Bfast before going

I'd like to think he was praying for a good flight.

Yay, the 'tickets' this year are purple!

Hello China, we've arrived after a 3-ish hour flight

China has these public telephones which are touch screen and totally free to use! How advanced.

And the airport now has a train station! So instead of driving to the village, we're going to take the 'bullet train' !

Here are the tickets. First class woooo. @ 35Y each which is.... S$7 ?

Look at the top speed! I think it might have reached 300km/hr but I can't remember.

Numero uno class. Actually even if you have a normal ticket you could just walk over to first class and if a seat wasn't occupied, you could just sit down. This is China after all

And we've reached Qionghai!

Slave!

And after a while in the car, we've reached the village house! My grandpa was there to welcome us. He left for China when I was in UK. I remeber we were in Stratford.

Looks like our CNY picture has made it to the mantle.

3 generations of le Swah's

Hi!

We were comparing our Legs (hair). LOL

As usual, we had nothing to do, so Hol and I went exploring. We found chicks in the shed!

Hello baby. So adorbz, i couldn't help myself and took like 13873i24 pictures of her.

Anyway, after that, we decided to take a walk to the river. What do i see...

A huge-ass spider!

And after a 10 min-ish walk, we've arrived at the River!

The country is beautiful, except for the squashed animals you find lying on the road.

We got back and we saw the ladies preparing our dinner.

Singapore-style curry!

Tuck in everybody! This was basically what we ate when we were there.

Have a banana for dessert?

Ok, so that's it for Day 1, 4 more days!

xx
