Sydney 2009
Day #4
Day #4
Hunter Valley; Sydney City
Good morning Kangaroos! They were about 50m away from the room and see that kangaroo is doing something with the pouch!
This is where we spent the night. Not a nice place. The place was creepy, there were insects and the channels were BAD.
Ah, but the view was nice!
After check out, we got on a 20-min ride to a winery. It was horrible. There were flies EVERYWHERE. Apparently some northwest winds or something blew them in from the desert. And it was a shit winery. They just described how the wine was made and didn't even show the process. The winery in China was so much better. You know when you go to wineries, they'd pack the wine in crates so that you can check it in and bring home? They didn't do that here, they only provide paper bags. Way to gain business!
After the winery, we went to the Hunter Valley shopping village. It started to rain. COME ON! When does it ever rain in Australia! The day started going downhill ever since.
We were supposed to go to some Chocolate factory. How exciting right? Turns out we were just going to a shop whose name is 'The Chocolate Factory'. Great. And the chocolates there were so overpriced! But their fudge was goood. I tried the Irish Cream one. Mmm. One family from the tour group bought 3 boxes worth of chocolate and candy from there. Crazy I tell you. And they were mad expensive! After having enough of that shop, we wandered around and found the British Lolly Shop. All the candy there is made in England! The nice lady offered us some bon-bons and we were hooked! We bought a 500g pack. Yummy.
After that, we were forced to go to the gardens. And it was raining! No mood at all. It'd be a really nice place to go if it wasn't raining. And so cold too! I packed my hoodie in the luggage. Right then, I felt like telling the tour guide to shut up cos he was like forcing us to go walk around the gardens in the rain for an hour! >:( Anyway, we ditched our parents and Hol and I walked around. I made him carry the umbrella! We saw some cute gardener boys. G'day! [cc]. Then we gave up, found a pavillion and played Tap Tap. I won btw. Then we went back to find our parents and went to eat. We were supposed to eat Fish and Chips. Yay! The driver was making such a big deal about it cos it was fish and chips. It was a huge disappointment. One tiny piece of fish and like 10 chips. Uselesss. Horrible lunch.
After that lunch, we headed over to a cheese tasting. UGH, the place smelled horrible!
Those cheeses up there, they range from 2-3 weeks to 5 years old ew! My mom bought the 2nd and 3rd from the left. I don't know why she did cos until now, we still haven't eaten them and they expire soon. Eek. The one with the black wax is vintage cheddar i think and the one next to it is wash rhined or something. I like the first from the right best! But everyone else thought it was disgusting :/
This is bleu cheese. THE GROSSEST CHEESE EVER> My parents didn't even want to try, IT's MOLD! But Hol and I tried a teeny bit. Bad decision. It tasted like vomit!
This is where we went.
After that, we headed back to the city. An almost 3 hour drive. And we saw an accident along the way. The jam went on for ages. Like 15mins after the accident, there was still a jam! Luckily we were on the other side. Later that night we watched the news and found out someone died in that accident :(. Anyways, we had dinner at Market City. THE WORST CHINESE DINNER EVER. Eee. If that restaurant were to have that Smiles programme. They'd definitely get lots of bad reviews. Then we went to some retarded chinese shop to buy abalone, nougats and macademia nuts. Quite disappointing too. Just some small shop under the monorail station -.-
After that was free time. So we decided to take a joy monorail ride round the city. It was 15mins and cost AUD4.20 each. RIPOFF! And the announcer sounded like he was super sian. We sat for a round and got off at Town Hall and walked all the way back to the hotel. We got some Hungry Jacks along the way. Yay for 50cents cones. They were way nicer than McDonalds.
Thats it for Day 4!
