(no subject)
Note to self: when participating in a speech competition judged by people who are essentially salarymen/women, a speech poking fun at Japanese companies, corporate culture, and, well, salarymen... is not going to win you the competition. Even if your presentation is pretty much perfect and you made the audience laugh quite a bit, and were super-cute to boot.
Oh, well. It doesn't really matter in the end, but I'm a poor loser. I sulked, but I'm pretty much over it, especially since my Mom called me this morning and talked to me for about half an hour. I think my ennui is lifting in general. Maybe by next week I'll be acting human and non-crabby again... although considering how hot it's been, and how crabby heat makes me, I can't make any promises.
