Life is looking up. Last week I had three job interviews and one random kind of thing. Anyway, I ended up with 3 jobs, and I turned down the other one. Well, I ended up turning down two and keeping two.
+I now work for the CIA- Center for Innovation in Assessment as a Scoring Assistant. I score the tests they give to little kids to see where they are developmentally. I love being able to say I work for the CIA- can you tell?
- The job does not pay that well- BUT it looks good on a resume esp. for my field and it gives me 20+ hours a week and fits with my schedule
+My first day of work is tomorrow!
+ I have a job that pays really well...
- It's babysitting.. I know I know what you are thinking...you are in grad school and you are going back to babysitting- you don't like kids! I know! I was volunteering at the Asian center on campus and there was this prof. who was saying she was in a pinch with babysitters- so I thought I would be nice and volunteer- like a one time thing. Well, she meant she was in a pinch in general and wanted somebody full time... I said I couldn't do it, but I am sitting randomly when they need me to. The kid is nice, but soooo energetic- but I think it's just me being old.
+ I loooooved seeing Aya last weekend. So good to see her! She hasn't changed- which I love knowing she is still Aya.
+ I got an A on my first grad school exam!! Wheeeeeee!
- I have my first video taped counseling session this week. The prof. doesn't believe in a perfect counseling session- which I think he might grade hard, but he says the lowest grade he ever gave was a B- so that's a plus
+ I am really getting into this whole learning Chinese thing. I downloaded the learn chinese podcasts on itunes and got some learn chinese cds from the library. I only know how to say my name is basically, but at least I'm trying.
- the weather has been in the high 80's to mid 90's every day this week. It is October- where is the cooler weather?!(but NO snow!)
- Grad school is very expensive. Expenses pop up when you least expect them.. Like I didn't know I had to put a down payment on my electricity bill!
- I got a parking ticket because I am a dumbass and assumed the downtown parking garages were like the school ones and free on Saturday mornings. They are not and they will ticket you.
+ I am really trying to use my planner and be organized
+ I relaxed this weekend and caught up on work and laundry. 4 loads of laundry!!!
+ I went out for sushi with Tracy and discovered a new kind of sushi roll- Sex and the City roll! Soooo good!! I also got some yummy sashimi :)
+ I am going to do my class interview on Thursday with a prison psychologist so hopefully I can do my practicum there next year!!
- I have to drive up to inner city Indy...fuck! This should be interesting...
