New Years + TROCK
Happy 2009, flist!
I had a lovely New Years, Sarah and I had SUPERHAPPYFUNTIMES at Milson's Point.
Yes, that is a bird on my head. It is the bestest hair clip evar!
Highlight of the afternoon: Being asked for my number by a sixteen year old. Well, a sixteen year old for his shy sixteen year old friend. May have come off as not-quite-straight ("I've never been with a guy, per se"). Asked Sarah and I how old we were and then asked if we'd buy them alcohol. Lovely, isn't it? "My friend likes you...oh, you're eighteen? WE CAN HAS ALCOHOLS?"
Sarah offered to tell him to fuck off next time he came around....shame that he didn't....
Highlight of the night: Well, besides the obvious (Fireworks! Woo!). We did pretty much what we did last year, and lay down on the picnic blanket and talked about lots of stuff, half of which I can't really recall, except that now I cannot say the word 'Wet' without hearing Sarah in my head telling me to stop saying it! ^o^
Bad luck with the trains though....would you believe it took TWO HOURS to get from Milson's Point to Mount Druitt?! We got on it at about 2 and didn't get there till about 4 - 4.30.
I spent half of New Years day sleeping and the rest of it re-discovering Time Lord Rock, or Trock. First discovered it when Nerimon decided to invent the genre, and make up his first Trock song (with an awesome guitar intro using the Doctor Who theme tune). Yesterday discovered Charlieissocoollike's song about the Doctor Who episode Blink (one of my favourites!), and their Trock band's Chameleon Circuit (Made up of Charlie, Nerimon and two other youtubers whose names escape me at the moment) myspace page. You know what is on that myspace page? Their first real recorded Trock song!
And it's awesome! Go listen to it right now!
Their blog says that they should have their first full album out early this year, so woo!
Still no decent haircut pics, will wait till Monday, when my workmate uploads the pics she took on Wednesday when we went out for Yum Cha. Still, that pic under the cut should give some indication of the length.
ETA: Just watched the Brideshead Revisited movie online. WTF WAS THAT?! No idea what was going on...
