HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I'm really feeling this year you guys. Really feelin' it. I pray to God that it's a bit better than last year because 2009 was like a spiraling vortex of epic disaster even up to the very last day. Although, 2009 brought many good things like Skins series 3, Merlin season 2, GLEE and movies like Avatar and The Hangover, it still had things I wasn't too happy about like whatever the hell happened between Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. RIP Epic Friendship :( 2009 was also the year of The Fame Monster which was AMAZING!! (I thoroughly enjoyed Gagagiving on ONTD.) I enjoyed/hated everything during and after the whole Kanye West/Taylor Swift intervention but I lol-ed at the memes.

I absolutely LOVED the music I got out of 2009 (The majority of it British because they're just that good.)

+ Pixie Lott- Turn It Up;
I fell in love with her voice instantly when I watched her cover of Use Somebody on YouTube ♥ I highly recommend her :D

+ Girls Aloud- Out Of Control, Cheryl Cole- 3 Words;
Out Of Control was no Tangled Up but it still had some brilliant songs like Untouchable, The Promise and Revolution In The Head and some songs that should have been on it: Memory Of You (love it to death) and It's Your Dynamite.

Chezza's album was stuck on repeat for a loooong while for me. I just adore her voice- it's different and conveys emotion really well. Songs I love: Parachute, 3 Words, Stand Up, Make Me Cry, Boy Like You. The only problem I had was all the Will.I.Am on it even though I love him.

+The Saturdays- Wordshaker;
There were songs on this that I loved right off the bat like Forever Is Over, Ego and Wordshaker while the rest were growers. Overall I love their vocals especially Vanessa and Una's and I think they'll continue to do well in the future. Check out their acoustic performances of Issues, Forever Is Over and a cover of the song Beggin'

+Frankmusik- Complete Me;
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ALBUM. I seriously enjoy listening to every song on this album, the lyrics, the electro-pop 80's vibe beats, everything. So this comes highly recommended as well especially the songs Three Little Words, In Step, Better Off As 2, and When You're Around.

+Friendly Fires- Friendly Fires;
What can I say about these guys?? They're just brilliant. I would seriously kill to get my hands on instrumentals of their songs because they are GENIUSES. Their songs make me want to bob my head and for some even get up and dance. Songs I love: Skeleton Boy, Jump In the Pool, White Diamonds, and Ex Lover.

+La Roux- La Roux, Little Boots- Hands;
Both these ladies have great electro-pop sound. With La Roux' Bulletproof, In For The Kill, Amour Love and Tigerlily- and her hair you guys, HER HAIR. Fabulous.

Little Boots had me at New In Town. It kind of hit me like Puck being lunged at by Finn in Glee. It was instant love.

+ The xx- 2.0
Another brilliant Brit group with lots of bass and I don't even know what (but it sounds amazing), pretty good lyrics and super soothing voices. Their songs are definitely for feeling mellow which I love- it's very calming. Songs I love: Basic Space, Crystallized, Shelter, and Infinity

+Lady GaGa/Lady GayGay/Gagalupe/Godga- The Fame Monster;
To be honest her first album The Fame was hit and miss for me but The Fame Monster?? ABSOLUTE POP PERFECTION. Every single song.It's only 8 tracks but every one is great so I recommend ALL of them; Telephone especially. If this is GaGa at her second album I can't wait to see what she comes out with next.

+A Fine Frenzy- Bomb In A Birdcage;
So I've loved Alison Sudol for about 2/3 years now and this album makes me feel so good. So so so good. Her lyrics are just beautiful and her voice is even more nice to listen to ♥ One of my absolute favourites for this year.

+Lights- The Listening;
I'm not really one for much Canadian music but this one is down right adorable &hearts. There's something about her voice as well that I really like. Doesn't hurt that her lyrics are nice as well. Songs I love: The Listening, Saviour, The Last Thing On Your Mind, Second Go, Face Up.

+Paramore- Brand New Eyes;
I knew I was going to love this album the moment I heard Ignorance. It's different to their previous albums but that's what I really like about it. The lyrics were deeper and more relate-able in some songs than with the ones on Riot!. Songs I love: Ignorance, Turn It Off, Where The Lines Overlap, Brick By Boring Brick, Careful.. okay so like the whole album. Also check out their cover of The Kings Of Leon hit song Use Somebody.

Other mention-ables:
Timbaland- Shock Value II; I know I know but don't hate.
I actually enjoyed the collabs on this one especially the on with The Fray and Esthero. Less Keri Hilson = happier me.

Selena Gomez & The Scene- Kiss & Tell;
the kind of music you put on full blast and sing embarrassing karaoke to.

Demi Lovato - Here We Go Again;
totally enjoyable. I hope she leaves Disney

Ke$ha - Animal;
this one isn't even out yet but it leaked and I love it. You'll definitely be seeing her all over in 2010

Safetysuit, Carrie Underwood, The New Moon Soundtrack, Muse, Jay-Z, Angus & Julia Stone, Orianthi, Noisettes, Vampire Weekend, OneRepublic, 3OH!3, Florence and The Machine, Gabriella Cilmi, The Script, Jessie James. EVERYTHING GLEE.

Music I look forward to: My bb Joe McElderry ♥, Nick Jonas & The Administration, The Veronicas, JoJo, anything that comes up that I love.

Heading back to life stuff, some Disney tweeny-boppers have dubbed 2010 "The Year Of No Fear" and I feel compelled to adopt it. I'm going to give 2010 my all and hopefully it'll end up loads better than the past couple years of my life :D Fingers crossed people, fingers crossed. I also hope to write some fanfic this year and not make it suck.

This post was brought to you by Chezza's lovely 'baby brother' Joe ♥♥ *squishes*

music, life, my bb joe, 2010!
