Music and Writing

I find that I get mentally attached to the oddest music while writing, music or a song that baffingly will attach itself to a certain scene or character. I'm not sure why because most of the time the significance of the song in relation to the scene or character seems mysteriously obscure and/or outright silly.

I've been listening to a CD I got called Arabic Groove and it has this song that recently wormed its way into an epic fight scene in my Nanowrimo novel and I'm still mystified as to why

From what I've been able to glean from the internets I think it's like a pop-ish version of a bedouin song that's basically about a woman missing her lover. Now what that has to do with our assassin taking down police officers right and left, you tell me.

(Also my mental movie director is so campy. I see this playing out like one of those awesome matrix floaty-style scenes where the hero/heroine is fighting their way through a big crowd of people and it goes slow and fast and slow and fast. EPIC.)
