And on a more tender and less silly note here's a video in the spirit of the season. One of my all-time favorite hymns :)
Seeing all the decorated crosses in front of the churches today as I drove through town...I don't know quite how to describe the feelings that come when I see them. Some decorations are as simple as a piece of white or purple cloth. Some of the crosses are white, some wooden and rustic looking. I saw one covered in an amazing display of bright flowers. There's something ancient, profound about seeing them knowing what strong feelings and faith are behind the outward displays. It hits me somewhere in the primitive parts of the soul and makes me feel small, vulnerable and human. I don't know how else to properly describe it.
