Epilogue

Belong to Nowhere
**I wrote this epilogue a long time ago but it was posted at Geocities and you k’now what happened with geocities- at the time I was in Europe and forgot to *save* my data. I knew my fics were somewhere in some lost HD but life really got in the way and I REALLY dind’t have time to deal with it. Anyways, the epilogue is finally here. :)**

*****

Yes, my dears, after almost three years here it is the ending of Belong to Nowhere. Now, looking back, perhaps, I’d had done some things differently- don’t know. This was my first fic ever(I started it and Soul Pieces at same time) and I like to think I improved since then.
Even way, what matters is that I had fun writing it- and because of this little fic, I had the chance to know wonderful persons (sp?).
^.^
Thank You so much for everybody who read, reviewed this fic. You guys made this worth.
Thank you so much to those who helped along the way:: Accoustics1220, Marie_J_Granger, Archie, Sugarquill39… Without you, guys…oh my! *squeezes*
And a special thank you to KatielovesSean who helped me with this final act. *hugs*

So, that’s it. I Hope you enjoy it.

Epilogue

Six years later

Potter Residence, London.

“Did I tell you how gorgeous you look, Mrs. Potter?” Harry whispered into her ear as he wrapped his arms around his seven month pregnant wife from behind.

“I am not feeling very gorgeous right now, Mr. Potter.” She whirled her body so they were eye to eye, her arms around his neck. “I’m just feeling like an ugly fat whale with swollen feet.”

Harry could have chuckled if the stern look on his wife’s face told him not to. “Hermione, love, you aren’t fat, you are preg-”
“-Pregnant, I know,” she said with a tired breath, “It’s just- I am feeling so tired this time, Harry.” She rested her head in the crick of his neck, sighing.

Harry’s previous happy demeanor quickly changed to concern. “Are you all right, love?” He cupped her face in his hands, looking straightly into her eyes. “I can’t bear it if anything happens to you or the babies love. You’re my life. Actually, you are much more than my life. If I didn’t have you, or James, who was still inside you, I could have never defeated Riddle.”

“I know, love,” Hermione whispered and gave him a small peck on his lips, “and there’s nothing wrong with me or the babies. I am just tired- and fat. Madam Pomfrey has told me about it. She said it’s normal with twins. Especially such powerful twins.” She caressed softly his features. “I’m fine.”

Harry nodded reluctantly before kissing her hard on the lips. The kiss was almost desperate, as he was trying to feel all of her, to taste her. Her hands were stroking his dark locks as his hands traveled up and down her lower back, making her moan against his mouth. “God, I love you so much,” he whispered against her swollen lips.

“Ewww!” a small voice cried from the door. Harry and Hermione chuckled against each other’s mouths before breaking apart and turning to the voice’s owner. They looked at their five year old boy with light brown hair and bright green eyes. “You were kissing!”

Harry smiled kindly at his son. “Yes, we were, James,” he said.

“But why?”

“Because we love each other very much,” Hermione explained.

“Oh.” James nodded, but didn’t seem convinced. “Ah!” He suddenly seemed to remember something, or better, why he was there. “Grandpa Sírius is here! Holly is there with him!” Before either Harry or Hermione could have the chance to reply, he ran out of the room.

“James!” Hermione cried in vain. “Don’t run ‘n the stairs!”

***
“My dears Harry and Hermione!” Sirius happily greeted them. He had a dark haired, chocolate brown eyed three year old little girl in his arms. She was giggling madly at something he must have done a moment before.

“Hullo, Sirius,” Harry greeted him back, shocking hands.

Hermione gave him a small peck on his cheek. “It’s good to have you here.” She moved to take Holly in her arms but Harry promptly stepped in, taking their little daughter.

Sirius chuckled at his godson’s antics as Hermione simply rolled her eyes.

“You know you can’t hold too much weight.”

“I know, love.” She kissed him softly on the lips. Harry was about to deepen the kiss when a throat being cleared was heard.

“Er, I came here to see if you are ready to go to the birthday.” Today was a double celebration: the fourth birthday of Ron and Luna’s daughter, and the third birthday of Dean and Padma’s son. The party would take part at The Burrow. “I hope you don’t mind if we go together.”

“Of course not, Sirius,” Hermione replied, “but what about Remus and Tonks?”

“Too goody- goody for my taste.” He looked between Harry and Hermione, shaking his head. “I also wanted to talk with you about Vida, Hermione.”

“Something happened?” Hermione asked in concern. “I thought she was all right at Hogwarts.”

“Oh, yeah, she is all right, but not at Hogwarts.” Hermione opened her mouth but Sirius stopped her. “She is at Grimmauld. It seems that she and Fawkes had some kind of...” Unable to control himself, Sirius began to laugh. “Sorry. It seems they had a lover’s row or something.”

“Oh! Poor Vida!” She narrowed her eyes at Harry, who was also laughing. “It’s not funny, Harry!”

“Of course not, dear.” He suppressed a chuckled as he wiped the happy tears from his face.

Hermione was about to say something else when James spoke out.

“Mummy, aunt Ginny will be there too?” he asked.

Harry, Hermione, and Sirius exchanged glances. Even if they didn’t want it to be, Ginny Weasley was still a hard subject.
“Probably, James,” Hermione responded, “but she usually doesn’t leave her bedroom when the house is full. She doesn’t like it when people look at her.”

“Auntie Ginny is ugly!” Holly cried.

Hermione pursed her lips, and looked at her daughter sadly, but didn’t reprimand her. She wasn’t really able to do that. To her, Ginny was still a very ugly human being. No matter if six years had already passed.

“Why is she like that, mum?” James asked. “Why does she have that ugly scar?”

Hermione closed her eyes briefly, as painful memories came to her mind.
*******************************************************
Six years before

1998

Hogwarts, Headmistress’ Office

Despite the number present in the room, there was an audible silence filling the place.

Hermione and Harry were sat together at a small sofa that McGonagall had transfigured. Standing by their side, not quite able to sit down due the tension were Ron and Luna. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were there too, of course. Their faces were pale and somber. Hermione couldn’t remember the day she had seen Arthur Weasley looking so old and tired.

Ginny was sat besides her parents, head down, staring at her hands.

Remus and Tonks, Sirius (hidden under Harry’s invisible cloak), Bill, and a member of the Government were there too.

“Very well,” the Headmistress said after a few moments, clearing her throat, “very well. I supposed I don’t need to say how much this all order has saddened me.” She paused and looked straightly at Ginny’s direction, who looked up. “Disgusted me.”
Ginny Weasley bit her lip and looked away. Her eyes were blood shot and the scar across her face was red and swollen.
“However,” McGonagall continued, “more than my personal feelings about the matter, we need, have to discuss about the consequences.”

“I-I won’t mind if you cut off my Hogsmeade’s weekends and even some-”

“Hogsmeade’s weekends?!” Harry cried out, interrupting Ginny. “How thick can you be? You’re going to Azkaban! You should-” He stopped, calming down a little, as Hermione squeezed his hand.

Ginny gasped in horror, her eyes opened wide in shock. “A-Azkaban?”

“But-But you can’t!” Molly Weasley cried, “Not my baby girl! She’s just a child!” She turned to her husband. “Arthur...”

“Minerva, Azkaban is...” Arthur Weasley heaved a sigh and looked at the Government representative, “Jason-”

“She attempted to kill Hermione, Arthur,” Tonks spoke for the first time, “and not only that; she attempted to kill Hermione and the unborn baby.” She shook her head, sighing heavily. “You know the law, Arthur. I’m really sorry for you and Molly have to be going thru this-”
“But she will be given the right of a trial right?” Bill asked.

Tonks nodded. “Yes, of course. However, since she tried to ki- well, since everything happened before several witness she will be taken into custody until the trial.”

“But-But...” Mrs. Weasley tried to argue in vain.

“It’s not only that, Molly,” McGonagall said, “I’m afraid there’s also the matter of Hogwarts.”

“What about Hogwarts?” Arthur asked, although it seemed he already knew the answer.

“Your daughter was expelled from Hogwarts, Arthur,” Jason McNigg replied.
“WHAT?!”

“Molly, please...”
“You are all destroying my baby girl’s life-”

“You already knew this was going to happen, Arthur,” McNigg continued as if he hadn’t heard Molly’s cries. Mr. Weasley nodded. “You know why I’m here.”

Arthur Weasley nodded once again. “To break her wand.”

“No!” Ginny shouted. “No! Daddy, please! T-They- they can’t...I-I- can’t go to Azkaban...they can’t break my wand...”
“You asked for this, Ginevra,” Ron said somberly.

“Shut up, Ron! You don’t understand!”

“I understand more than you know, sister!” he spat, “You tried to destroy Hermione and Harry’s love. Circe, you tried to kill my best friend! You lied, you cheated!”

“You want me to rot in Azkaban?”

“No, of course not! You’re still my sister. For more than I despise the fact, you’re still my sister...but you need to pay for what you have done, Ginevra.”

“But there isn’t a way-?” Molly spoke again, a little calmer this time, her eyes filled with tears.

Jason McNigg shook his head. “I’m afraid no-”

“Wait!” Hermione said out aloud, causing everybody in the room to look at her in surprise. “I-I...it’s that we are in a period of war, Mr. McNigg, and-” She looked briefly at Ginny. “-and for more that this person had done to me; or tried to, I would never forgive myself if-if something happened because she couldn’t defend herself.” The young witch bit her lower lip and sighed. “Tonks, I remember you mentioned once about a wand used straightly to defense spells.”

“Yes!” Tonks nodded emphatically. “It’s the defense wand. It’s used in Auror’s training. It’s a charmed wand. Only defense spells can be use. If you try to clean the bedroom, or wash the dishes, it is completely useless.

“It’s a wonderful idea, Hermione,” Arthur said, smiling briefly at the brown-haired witch. “Jason?”

“I guess it can be done. However, the expulsion-”

“I know.”
“But what I’ll do with a wand that does nothing?” Ginny complained.

“Ginevra!” Bill cried, annoyed. “Shut up! You’re still going to Azkaban! Aren’t you really understanding the situation here?!”

“A-about that-” Hermione spoke again. “I know I’ll be called to testify and-”

“Hermione, no-”

“Wait, Harry.” She smiled sadly at him and then turned her gaze at Tonks direction. “I know that the punishment for crimes like these is about twenty years to life...I-I would like then to suggest a deal. Two years in Azkaban and some sort of counseling for the rest of her life.

“Hermione...”

“Please, Tonks, this can be done?”

“I-I think so, but I can’t give you the answer right now. We need to talk with the Law Department and-” She looked at the Weasleys. “Arthur, in Ginny’s behavior, needs to agree too.”

“Of course he won’t agree!” Ginny said emphatically. “Do you really think they will send me to Azkaban? That’s why she wants to do this- this *deal*.”

Arthur looked briefly at his wife, who nodded her head painfully. “I- We- agree.” He looked then at Hermione and gave her a poignant smile. “Thank you.”

“Thank you?!” Ginny cried in disbelief. “And you are even saying thank you?! This is a payback! Can’t you see she wants to see me suffer? It’s revenge! I can’t stay two years in Azkaban!”

“Payback? Do you really think this a payback? That I am trying some sort of revenge of everything you have done?” Hermione gave a dry laugh. “Ginny, if it was true - if I asked you to suffer what I am feeling right now...I would never have asked for a deal- but you sentenced to death.”

Present Time

“Mum?”
Hermione shook her head, trying to vanish the memories. She looked down and smiled at her son. “She did very bad things, sweetheart. Very bad things. That scar is to help her not forget.” She blinked some unwelcome tears away.

Harry gave Holly back to Sirius, and then gathered Hermione in a tight hug.

“I love you, I love you,” Harry repeated over and over again against her hair.

“Sorry, Harry, it’s these damn hormones!” she cried against his gasp. “Ginny Weasley is just a sad memory.”

“Yes, love, just a sad memory,” Harry agreed. He kissed her softly on the lips. “And you, my everything, are my past, my present, and my future.”
“And you are my past, my present, and my future,” she whispered back before kissing his lips softly.

And despite everything that Ginny Weasley had said and done; Harry and Hermione lived ever happily forever.
