Picture this: You see two girls walking down the hallway. One of them is skinny with beautiful long hair, tanned to a perfect golden brown even in winter, her hands tipped with manicured nails. Everything about her is perfect, all the way down to the cut of her short skirt and the fit of her tight shirt. The second girl walking next to her is very pretty, but she isn't like the first girl. Her hair is up and she is wearing a baggy sweatshirt because she prefers to be comfortable. Her nails aren't done because she has more important things to worry about. And her skin may have a few flaws, but atleast it is it's natural colour.
The first girl is the one all the guys go after. Why not? She's gorgeous. But the second girl is always the fall back girl, the one that no one really cares to look at unless all the first girls are taken.
Now flash forward twenty or so years. By this point the first girl has gained a little weight, making the shirt and skirt combination rather hideous. The wrinkles on her face and sun damage from her tanning days can not be completely covered, despite the layers of makeup. Even her hair has lost it's old glow after years of dye jobs. The second girl, on the other hand, looks more radiant than ever. Her heartfelt smile penetrates everyone who walks by her. Her hair is not perfect, but she has better things to do than worry about such trivial things. Her face is flawless, touched only by the smallest amount of makeup becuase she really doesn't need any anyways. She has a timeless beauty to her.
But the main difference between these two is that girl number one is all alone. Her beauty only got her so far in the guy arena, because after a while guys want to settle down, whether they believe it or not. First girl is a swinger, not someone who would settle down and start a family. So she sleeps alone most nights, unless she picks up a younger guy, only realizing the next morning through her awful hangover that the elevator boy just isn't a suitable match. But the second girl is not alone. She is always surrounded by her family. Her husband and her children adore her because she always puts them first. Her life is full of happiness and meaning.
First girls may be beautiful and easy, but beauty is only skin deep for those kinds of people. Second girls are beautiful both inside and out, even if their outer beauty takes a while to show itself.
