Well...the Summer's finally over, once more, and I'm back in college again. In fact, I'm at college right now, and I figured since I have some extra time before my class starts, I'd write something in here.
This summer was very slow and very relaxed, I didn't do much of anything. I spent a lot of time making more friends online (seems that I know have more friends online than I do in real life), making promises ro myself that I wouldn't keep, and trying to keep myself busy. The only really interesting thing to happen to me this summer was that I went downstate to a theme park called Michigan's Adventure for a day, and spend the night at my grandma's then went home then next day. It was pretty fun, better than I thought it was going to be. It started out sort of gloomy, seeing as it was raining on our way down there, but it cleared up (a little bit) and ended up being just the right temperature; not too hot, not too cold. I spent most of my time in the water park (not by choice, if I had had my choice I might have spent more time in the midway), riding water slides and floating around the "Lazy River" in my innertube. Then I went back to the midway with the rest of my family, rode a few more rides, spent some money on a game (and I won, yay!) and souvenirs, and then played another game with my entire family. My dad won a giant purple ostrich from that, which is now sitting in his room, lonely. Then we went for pizza, by which point I was rather miserable (I had a sunburn even though it was only cloudy out, and cramps, which I really can't explain, it wasn't quite the right time for me to be having them), and went to bed. Maybe if I feel like it later, I'll show you a picture of the rainbow puppy dog I won, and a picture of my family and the ostrich.
As far as college goes, I have one class on campus (a sociology class) that's only an hour and a half long on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That class starts in about 2 hours. Then, I have a "self paced" Enlgish Composition class that I start next Monday (I get to choose when I start, hehe!); I only just finished the required orientation for that. I was a little worried about not being able to finish my assignments on time for that class, but after the orientation, I'm much less worried about it...but not completely worry free. I know that I have a tendencey to procrastinate, I hope that that won't be my downfall this time. I'm determined to work hard and finish everything in a timely manner, even if that means I have much less time to talk to all of my online friends. I guess I am sort of glad I decided to take it now, it really gives me a chance to explore different ways of learning, and that's certainly what I'm doing this semester. And finally, there's my online College Algebra class, which I have already started. I was a little apprehensive about this class, as well, because at first glance, it looked to be a lot more difficult than the last online I class, but now that I've gotten back into the swing of things, so to speak, I realize it's really not that bad, even enjoyable. The teacher is pretty nice, I didn't get to meet her at the orientation, but luckily I already knew how to navigate the site where I do all my work, and I've already met her before. In fact, she was the one who helped me choose my classes for my first semester at NMC, and even used to go to my church. Now all I have to worry about is meeting up with my english teacher, than then I can get started on that, too. I just hope I can meet my goal of finishing by November 1st.
Earlier I had thought of a ton of stuff to say, but now I can't think of anything else. But, I'm sure it'll come to me later. I'm sure I'll be posting in here a little more often, but since when do I ever keep my word? ;)
