We have the interwebz again! Hurrah!
The big news, I suppose, is that I am now an apprenctice tattooist! It's exciting. I've been so scared for so long about what on earth I was going to do with my life, since the only thing I'm even half good at is drawing, but without a degree what good is that? (OK, it's not much easier with a degree, but that's not my issue). BUT! Here I am with a potential career path laid out, doing a job that I really enjoy. I feel like I'm back on the road after years in a forest.
It's scary though. Yesterday I did my first tattoo...on a grapefruit. A tattoo machine, it transpires, is nothing like a pen. The vibrations aren't as jarring as I expected, but it is heavy and takes some getting used to. You have to hold it at a specific angle, apply a specific amount of pressure, etc. However, it's also super-fun, and I really do think that, with enough practice under the very helpful guidance of Andy, I can do this. I never thought I'd ever be a tattooist, but I really really want this.
