Wait, you just saw it? I thought you saw it weeks ago!

It was really amusing when I saw people being terribly emotional about the ending on tumblr, cause knowing that Moffat was behind it, I really couldn't see any 'death' being permanent. Even without that intended impact, it was really well done.

I'm going to miss Moriarty, because he was a terribly good and believable villain.

There's been a lot of theories running around tumblr, but none of them really hold up to close scrutiny. It seems like Molly would have had to have some involvement, since she'd probably be the one performing the autopsy (speaking of, how would he finagle his way out of that?). My best bet is that the height wasn't enough to entirely enough to actually kill him- despite the blood, it'd be possible that he had taken something prior that would make it seem like he would be dead? And then when John or anyone else went to take his pulse, they wouldn't feel anything because (here you can thank my lab partner for instructing me about this) if you place a tennis ball in your armpit and apply pressure, it can stop the flow of blood to your wrist. And seeing how Sherlock was bouncing a ball around right when he asked Molly for help...

Or maybe the TARDIS showed up right when the bus passed by in front of John, and he fell in, got some makeup on and went back out to pretend like he had died.

(Though, I find the bird idea much more amusing)
