OH HEY YOU FINALLY CAUGHT UP I CAN RESUME POSTING FRINGE ON TUMBLR AGAIN

I do have to ask why you waited till 2 AM to watch it, finally :P

I'm was half convinced that Jones was just as insane as Moriarty, but now it looks like he has a giant universe spanning plan?

AHHH ALT!BROYLES and NINA? I can't decide that if Nina is 1) a shapeshifter, 2) working as partners with Jones, or 3) the mastermind behind this plan or 4) if she's just acting as a proxy for Bell, who's actually behind all of it. Or how long that she's been secretly dosing Olivia and stopping dates with Lincoln with Cortexiphan. But that also asks why she'd be dosing Olivia, if they can already cross universes? Or why Jones feels the need to make a giant Dalek reality bomb?Or why Alt!Broyles, whom I'm working under the assumption is not a shapeshifter, is working with Jones?

There really needs to be a scene with Amber!Walternate and Amber!Walter.

I have a feeling that we're probably not going to be having four universes (or maybe we might?) because even for Fringe, that's a little way too ambitious. But at the same time, it's hard to see how they'd also leave the Amberverse behind, seeing as to how we've already spent so much time over here?

OR THEY JUST MIGHT HAVE A GIANT INFO MEMORY DUMP IN EVERYONE'S HEADS. Which would be interesting. But I feel like they're going to resolve it in the finale?

I'm just calling the characters based on the universe location, which leads us to Future/Gray!Character, Amber!Character/Alt!Character (for the Amber!Blue/Redverse), Alt!Character (for the old Redverse) and then just regular names for the old Blueverse.

So...

Olivia, Alt!Livia, Amber!Olivia, Amber!Alt!Livia? The thing is, if you're talking to someone not on the system, they'll likely assume that "Olivia" means "Amber!Livia".

See my reply to fogsblue above for more of my thoughts on getting back to two 'verses.

OR maybe that's what The Observer meant by "you're going to have to die"? She's going to revert back to original recipe Olivia?

That's true...You could refer to her as Blue!Olivia, or PreAmber!Olivia, just for clarification. I tend to refer to Amber!Olivia as Olivia, since it is the current incarnation, and the past incarnation as PreAmber!Olivia.

Retconning three seasons of episodes is just...ahfosfsef. Like, it's just cheap and most of all, not fair to go like 'Oh those three seasons we built up to develop these characters aren't going to always be true', but I don't really see them doing that without somehow addressing the problem. The only problem I see with them just rebooting the Amberverse to the old Blue/Redverse is that it would mean we'd gotten ten episodes in a timeline that has no impact, after we've gotten to see the new incarnations of the characters. Or did you mean that they just rewrite the history of S4, and continue going with the timeline in the Amberverse? Though, wouldn't rewriting the past of S4 also alter the people and events and how things turned out in S4 as they are now? Though, it does kind of seem like the Redverse at least, is kind of drifting to where it was before, so maybe

But at the same time, I don't want to lose Olivia/Lincoln, because Lincoln is adorable. And the ship is adorable.

I want my cake, and I want to eat it. Why can't I have both?

I guess that could be a metaphorical death, of sorts. It's probably hard to focus after you've been shot.

But I was thinking about what the Observer said- it was in the sense that she has to die, not that she will die, or that she is going to die. Kind of like she has a choice in the matter, or that she's going to have to die to do something? Which loops back around to how she seems to be the crux of Nina and Jones' plan, for whatever reason that it might be. Maybe she has the same role as Peter in S3- to save the universes, she has to die?

OR maybe, in the spirit of the entire show and last season and this season in particular, Peter has to let this version of Olivia die to fix something? Because Walter broke the universes and started everything by not letting Peter die, which had been fixed by Peter dying a la the Machine (assuming that the Amberverse is the 'correct' timeline), so when Peter came back and when the Observer opted to not erase him from time, it shifted the timeline back to being flawed, so to fix it this time, Peter has to let Olivia die? It'd make a thematic sort of sense, as how Peter didn't want to let Olivia die in S3, and thus fixed the universes, but in reality if Peter wants to be around, then he has to allow Olivia to die?

IDK. I apologize if that didn't make much sense- my brain's a little loopy and fried.

P.S. There a lots of goodies for you, waiting. And I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, so shhhh.
