I wasn't meaning to disagree with the sentiment of the article or the post - I think the need for the uncommon life, the great adventure, is implanted in each of us by God, though, perhaps, easily buried. I just found that the line, "how can we show God’s power if we don’t do audacious stunts" places the emphasis on our actions rather than the Spirit's impetus. Also the "shouldn’t I at least try to reach for the Brother Andrew-type life" idea - I am pretty sure that Brother Andrews had no idea of "trying" for that type of life. He probably had no choice, but was compelled, as Paul says. If the focus is on resting, rather than trying, there is no need to think of a common life. Resting is much more difficult, much more uncommon and results in much greater manifestations of His glory than trying.

These are just details that, while not pivotal to the idea of the article, to me can shift the focus just enough to give the idea that there is something inadequate in simply living life and letting God show His glory however He chooses. It is that old mistake of the flesh that takes the desire for righteousness that God gives at salvation and makes us think that if we desire it, we can then fulfill it.

Way off track from the thrust of your post, I know, but I think worth notice. I certainly didn't mean it as a criticism of you or your thoughts :). Especially since I don't even know you :).
