Thanks! It's a really small field. There aren't too many archaeologists kicking around, so I did luck out. It's a case of being in the right place at the right time.
I worked crap jobs for years going through university. I spent lots of time as a barista, and worked at Home Depot for WAY too long. It's a crappy right of passage, though. My feet still haven't forgiven me.
Yeah, smelling like meat products at the end of the day is never good.
I am an archaeologist, but I work here in North America, so it's a bit different than European archaeology. I'm really quite new to the field, but I study Plains Prehistory, and I really like traditional plant use studies. It's a hard thing to make a career out of, but I love it, so it's worth it.
