There is more cussing as Asuka tosses the Swiffer to the floor and it sprays more water, making yet another puddle of cleaning fluid in the kitchen.

It takes her several minutes just to get the door open and when she finally does, she cannot help but laugh at the pizza and beer.

"Hey. Come in."

"Nagi happened. It was stinking up the place so he got rid of it. I think he arranged for food to be delivered too. I'm really starting to get sweet on the boy."

She stops wheeling toward the kitchen and looks up at him.

"You're gonna grill me for details too. And there's something else you wanna talk about. Or maybe not 'want to'."

I can understand that. He's a lot nicer than he lets on. To his friends, anyway.

Nagi already gave me the cliff's notes version of what he told you, so I'm not going to grill you, but if there's anything you want to talk about that you didn't tell him...

::gonna set the pizza down now, since he just realized he's been fidgeting with the corner of the box::

I also wanted to let you know that I gave Yohji my PINpoint. He wasn't sure when he'd be able to make it back, but...

I think he was pretty shaken up at the time. The whole Nexus thing is a lot to take in at once, especially with meeting me. ::among other things::

She rubs her hand across her face. She doesn't want to talk about it, but talking about is better than this awkwardness.

"They came for me. I couldn't fight all three of them off, but I tried. I smashed blondie's face against the coffee table, but the other two...

"It was humiliating being held up by a knife attached to an umbrella."

She looks over at him.

"Now your turn. How are you dealing with the whole alternate thing?"

If it makes you feel any better, I've had my head stepped on during the middle of a fight. I know all about humiliating.

The alternate thing... It's weird. Definitely weird. I don't know to react to him, you know?

She snorts. Getting your head stepped on during a fight doesn't sound all that humiliating.

I'm glad that you guys found each other again. I know what it's like to lose your best friend, and... ::deep breath:: and it really sucks, so I'm glad. It's just going to take some time to get used to another me, I guess.

It seemed kinda cruel to send him off without a way to get back. Some of the weirdness is just seeing how young he is, and I don't just mean how he looks. I dunno. Makes me feel a little protective, I guess.

"Yeah. I can understand that. I feel protective of him too sometimes, but I also respect him enough to know he can take care of himself.

"I'm really kind of grateful you're gonna be getting the chance to know him better."
