Aya was about to knock on the door, but when she hears the knock she lets herself with a key.

The apartment has been cleaned up, but it's obvious that it has been damaged. The coffee table is gone and it will take those carpets a long time to dry.

"Asuka?" she calls out, sounding concerned.

She closes her eyes. The only thing that could make this experience worse. Somehow, she blames Aya-chan's remarkably bad timing rather than believe Nagi followed through on his threat.

Not even an evil boy genius would be that cruel.

She tries to pull herself back up to the bed. And swears prolifically because it more painful and difficult than it had any right to be.

Aya smiles when she hears the cussing and goes in direction of the noise. She gasps when she sees Asuka, even though she was expecting to see Asuka injured because of the state of the apartment.

Aya rushes over to Asuka and tries to help her up.

"What happened?"

Asuka fends Aya off as best she can. Aya still ends up helping Asuka back on to the bed.

"Nothing happened."

Aya nudges one of the crutches on the floor with her foot and uses her most bratty tone.

"Which is why you're all bandaged and can't even use crutches right?"

"I got hurt."

"Clearly. Are you going to tell me your apartment is a little messy next? You should be int the hospital."

She scowls.

"I just got out of the hospital."

Aya is impervious to scowling. She folds her arms in front of her and cocks her hip toward Asuka. There could be a picture of her next to brat in the dictionary.

"Got out or busted out?"

Oh my, the ceiling really needs to be cleaned doesn't it. She isn't embarrassed at all. She just doesn't need to explain herself to a little girl. Really.

"Thought so."

Aya goes to the kitchen and gets a glass of water which she puts on the night stand next to Asuka.

She reaches into her pocket.

"I always carry a first aide kit with me. With my friends, it's just good policy. I have some pain pills, just over the counter stuff. But somehow I'm guessing you rushed off without medication."

Asuka is tempted to say, 'Shows what you know! They wouldn't even give me the medication.' But she realizes that might result in Aya not giving her the pills.

She gratefully takes the pills and the water when offered.

And Aya does indeed offer.

She studies Asuka.

"I'm surprised they let you out without a wheelchair."

And this is the moment when Asuka realizes they could have avoided the humiliation of being carried if only they had stolen a wheelchair.

Aya gapes at her.

"There is a medical supply store in the Nexus Mall."

She reaches into her pocket, flips open her cell phone, and order a wheel chair and other medical goodies to be delivered.

"Your carpet is will need to be replaced too."

"Thank you."

She is genuinely grateful. And Aya-chan isn't even hovering to badly.

"The carpet will have to wait."
