A whole year

Last time I posted we had a seven week old. Today we have a 14 month old! The past year has gone so fast, watching our little baby grow into a little girl. After such a peaceful start, at 3 months our placid, easy baby showed us how parenthood isnt always easy hehe. By 7 months we werent having to rock to sleep anymore though, and by 12 months Lily was sleeping from 7pm-6.30am. Finally!

She is such a determined, happy, funny, sweet, clever little thing. At 5 months she was sitting & army crawling, and she was cruising around walking by 10 months. She is so petite it looked funny to see her walk! She has just gone through a growth spurt and now weighs 9.5kg. Tantruming already, but also giving lots of kisses (kishhhh) and cuddles too. And an obesession with shoes! (sshhhhes) they are by far her favourite thing and she is often found trying to put them on or walking around with them in her hands.

As for me, we finally got rid of our housemate (bliss) and I have decided to do my honours year of uni full time next year. Lily will have 2 days of childcare and 1 day each with her nannys. Then I will be able to be an intern psychologist! J is going to do a diploma of business, specialising in HR. I am so proud of him. He will be able to be a union official then, or apply to be an ambulance officer.

No more babies for us either until I am a fully registered psychologist. I will be able to work part time then until our youngest is in school, which works wonderfully. And I have the option to go back and do masters or a doctorate, or even a phd when the kids are older. It means a 4-5 year gap between Lily and the next, but I am happy with that. I enjoyed focusing soley on Lily so much during the newborn phase I cant wait to do it with our next while Lily is happy at prep.

And this is the precious Lily Victoria at her first birthday party:
