"Heaven"
I'm starting to think you build the foundation
For your own heaven and your personal hell
It's your choice whether you want to lay there
Get up and sing or slam your fists and yell
And I've made the choice to paint it all white
Carpet the floors and call it a day
I've got a faux-heaven I'm calling my own
I'm afraid that I've just lost my way
So it's true that you build it with words and with smiles
And your heart determines your place
But it's all right here, in my room with white walls
Not below, and it isn't a race
Someday I'll know what it takes to build my pearly gates
And to learn from mistakes how to live
I know I love you and all of the rest
But it's me who I must learn to forgive
