I was definitely at the Dr yesterday for 2 HOURS! And the sad part was I wasn't even with the Dr the whole time!
My Dr was out of town so I saw another one of the Drs. We got there early, checked in (all the receptionists know me and just check me in when I walk in) and I got called in early.
We get in they check my BP...136/100!!! wtf!? Thats the highest its ever been. Of course its a different nurse than my regular one so she started asking me all these questions. Yes, I know its high. Yes, I have been monitored for almost 6 weeks for this. No, its not usually this high. etc, etc. She says she's gonna let me sit and then come back and take it before the Dr gets in. Well she never came back.
Pretty sure we waited almost 45 minutes for the Dr to even get in the office! OMG! I have never waited for more than like 15 minutes...tops...for my Dr. I was seriously getting all kinds of annoyed. The Dr gets in. She was really nice. Asked me all my questions, checked my BP, checked where the head is, measured me, took fetal HB etc. I'm measuring right on where my due date is so thats really great. She started talking to me about kick counts. My Dr hasn't talked to me about them at all. I haven't needed to do them. He moves around so much I don't need too. If i ever get worried I put my hands on my stomach and count. I usually get my 10 in 5 minutes. She wants me record them...ok...well I don't know if I should because my Dr hasn't talked to me about it so I don't think she wants me to do it unless he stops moving around lots.
I had to do a NST as well. And let me tell you...Aiden sure DOES NOT like being monitored...at all. He usually kicks at the Dr when she takes his HB. Well he was going nuts when they were hooking me up to the monitor. The nurses were in shock. My whole stomach was contorting. Took them 5 minutes to get a good spot, kept squirming away. Then they get him and he would keep kicking at the monitors and moving away. They never got what they wanted because he was moving away a lot. I'm not worried. Every time his heartbeat sped up he moved away and kicked at it. lol. I'll probably have to do another one next week.
Phew, that was really long...but a lot of stuff happened yesterday!
