first day of school.
Ok, I have a lot to write about fro this weekend. I'll get to that in another post. Right now I have to post abut this:
So today is the first day of school for Jefferson county. I am excited and nervous for them. For Thomas especially. Today is his first day in a new school and starting a year after all of his peers. (remember that he was home schooled last year.) So he is starting a new school year in the same grade but not with the advantages of already having had the experience. Just makes me nervous for him. Of course in letting him know about going back to school it seemed more like he wanted to be home schooled last year because he was scared.
I am happy with the team he got. At that middle school they divide up into teams and the kids stay with each other and the same teachers all year. They say it's like "a school within a school". A system that works well, I think, in this school because so many of the kids go from really small schools where they know everyone to this huge school with more than triple the population of their old school. Anyway the team he got is made up of GREAT teachers. Most of them my girls had and I subbed for (when I was subbing). He will absolutely LOVE his science teacher!
Anyway, Tom will be able to sleep without interruption all day. I just hate that the boys will have to ride the bus to school on Wednesday and Thursday now, since mom semi-retired and is in a new building. Also Tom is still at work so I have no car. Plus since I am still at work they will have to ride the bus home. I know it's not really a bad thing but still.
