So I want to move. Far away. Yes my motivation to begin with was mostly to get away from my parents and to get more snow. A few months ago Tom and I made a list of states we would be willing to move to. There are 16. All of them further north, for obvious reasons.
The states we are looking at (in alphabetical order) are:
- Alaska
- Idaho
- Illinois
- Maine
- Michigan
- Minnesoya
- Montana
- New Hampshire
- North Dakota
- Ohio
- Oregon
- Vermont
- Washington
- Wyoming
- Wisconsin
- South Dakota
I have been keeping a chart of sorts which will/does include all of the following:
- Education rating by achievement
- median income
- cost of housing/living
- tax rate-both income and sales
- weather (of course)
- catholic churches and schools (this is more specific to certain towns/cities)
- happiness rankings
This is what I can think of to look for, anybody out there have any other ideas?
If anyone has any information- factual or personal I would love to hear it. I know it will be at least 3 years before we can move (the house will be paid off then). I would like to move before the boys are in High School (also about 3 yrs) But I am trying to gather as much information as I can so we can narrow it down a bit and get a more realistic view.
