Fantastic!!!

I had a really, truly great day!

I had made the decision to go to Hobby Lobby today to see about getting a pictured framed, and maybe feed my new knitting habit. :D

On my way I decided to stop by my dads store to find out WTF was going on with the car situation.  He suggested we go see the guy. (a car dealer owes my dad $$$ so this is a trade deal).

Nothing going with the original car we discussed, but in talking we started looking at a '97 Saturn SL1 (has a '99 SL2 motor).  It's a 5 speed so I am the only one who can drive it, not too bad, I don't have to feel guilty for not letting the girls drive.  It has a new clutch, the motor only has about 110,000 miles on it, new battery, new alternator.

It does not, however, have a radio-previous owner kept (but he will put a new one in) AC not working,  as well as  the horn and door locks so but some fuses are missing so that may be the problem. -previous owner messed with the wires and fuses putting in his stereo and amps.  It needs an alignment-badly, and the tires balanced, also a new windshield (not absolutely nec.).  All in all it will need about $200-$300 repairs.  I am hoping that new fuses will fix the minor stuff.  I will probably take it to the local Saturn dealer and find out exactly what is wrong and how much it would cost to fix.

All in all it's a decent car, esp. for only $950, we can prolly negotiate that because of all the little problems or get them all fixed.
The more I drive it the more I like it and realize how much I missed the 5 speed.

The dealer said to take it home a drive for a few days and let him  know.  So I no longer have my dad's "canary" (the bottom van).

Afterwards I went to Hobby Lobby and wandered.  I found a great green and purple yarn to make a scarf for De.  I also bought some other odds and ends.  The frame I priced was a little more than I wanted to spend- I am going to check Micheals and compare.

Tom dyed my hair tonight!!!! I love the color and it is pretty true to the box.

One major bad thing that happened today was that I found out that my local Food Lion was closing its doors. I could cry.  The lease is up next month and there are too many repairs to make that it really isn't feasible.  They really do have the best meat around.  Now my only chioces in town will be Food City, and Wal-Mart or Sav-a-lot.  I won't shop at Wal-Mart or Food City, so I guess I will have to drive to Knoxville for my Food Lion.  Not as convienient but it will work.  I have shopped at Food Lion for 11 years!  Nowhere else.  I like the store, the prices, but especially the people.  I am in that store 2-3 times a week, sometimes all in one ay. :-)

So all in all a wonderful day!
