I had fun. I went out to west Knoxville last night to
Star102.1 for what they called a Listener Advisory Board which was kinda like a focus group mixed with a survey type of thing. There were 8 of us, although 15 were supposed to be there.
Mark, Kim and Frank greeted us as we got there. That was fun. I had to stop from greeting them like old friends, because even though I already knew them, they didn't know me. When Kim opened the door I just wanted to say, "Hey Kim how are you doing?" and when I saw
Frank I wanted to ask how come he wasn't at his
Einstein Simplified show yet. I wanted to ask Mark about his daughters. I just feel like I know them all. Heck I know all of their cars, of course only Mark and Franks because their kids go to
KCHS.
They gave us a tour of the studio, which was nice and interesting, then we went into a conference room, Mark, Kim and Frank left. They gave us pizza and drinks. The people told us why were there what we would be doing, etc. They gave us a t-shirt, pen, a pass for opening night of
21 (movie), and a free lunch for a place called
Guthrie's- which I'd never heard of. By the time we'd left they'd also given us a pass to
Wild Wing cafe.
Afterward I took myself out to a place called Backroom BBQ, which used to be Lucille's. (I had a $25 gift Certificate for Lucille's-I figured I try the gift cert and if they took it great, and if not, I'd just pay cash).
This blog entry includes what I ordered to take home to Tom- the Pit Sampler, minus the sides, I got him other stuff. I ordered an appetizer for myself and couldn't finish it. I had to use the entire GC because the place was no longer Lucille's but they would still honor the GC, so I got Tom dinner- he also couldn't finish his.
I got home later than intended but all in all it was a good night.
