A busy weekend

I'm finally back home again after a hectic time in Stockholm. On Saturday I entered Ruby into a fun dog show, unfortunatly the judge turned out to be a woman who doesn't like me much after I threatened to involve the police when she refused to give us money for a dog she rehomed for us. Jerk! Anyway, Ruby behaved very very well and I am SO proud of her!
I'm proud of both my girls actually, the Pet Expo is a very stressful environment and they were both on their best behaviour, except for yesterday morning when Ruby attacked one of the other dogs in our stand and gave her a nice hole in her face just under the eye. Ruby was guarding the pig ears in a bag under the table when the other dog came too close...oops! But other than that they've been great, letting little kids pet them and hug them and never got irritated or afraid. And even though the place was full of interesting smells, bouncy rabbits, little birdies, running rats, lots of other dogs etc they stayed in our stand and didn't try to wander off. Ruby did go around showing her arse to every dog she met, but still, she behaved better tyhan I had expected!

On Saturday evening I went to the cinema with Mia and one of her colleagues, we went to see a Swedish movie called Arn - the Knight Templar. It was alright, not the best I've seen but okeyish. We were laughing right through the movie at silly things, and the cutest guy in the whole film was like 5 years old...sigh.
I've read the books that the movie is based upon, and they were (as usual) better than the movie.
I got home really late that night and missed the night bus from the station so I had to get a taxi to Beata's place. Think I got to bed at like 1.30am and got up again at 7...for another day of games and fun at the bloody Pet Expo!

Yesterday evening NeverNeverland had our Xmas-party at hanna's place. Only thing was, only half the organisation was there. Anna K is stuck in Lapland working at the Ice Hotel, Eva has a cough and couldn't come to the Expo and Beata was too tired so she went home. So Anna B, Hanna, myself, Terhi (who is one of our adopters) and Hanna's boyfriend Andreas had Thai food from a Take Away restaurant nearby and the party was over before 20:30. We were all wrecked after the Expo and needed to go home and let the dogs rest.

In the middle of all this madness we've a dog in a bad situation in a town north of Stockholm. her owner is mentally ill and one of her other dogs was found tied to a tree in the forest just before Xmas...dead. We've tried since then to get our dog back, but haven't had any success yet. I've spoken to the Animal Welfare Inspectors in that area and they have promised to do an inspection and act if neccessary. If the reports we've been getting in the last few days are right, we should have our dog back soon. Fingers crossed!

Oh, and it was snowing again when I came back home! I haven't been out now for a few hours but I'd say it's raining...again.
This evening I'm winding down with a bottle of Barcadi Breezer, uploading my pics from PAWS to the computer so I can burn them on a disc. Once that's done I'll update the website and go to bed!
