Your coldness excites me, the opera is still

I am here to say that I broke my blog silence a few days ago and made a post at Aesthetisexuality. Mainly about goth androgyny, my relationship to it, and further defining aesthetisexaulity. And subculture in academia. Sort of. I'm so hesitant to link to blog posts from facebook, whereas here, it's such a tiny sample of people that it's filtered down to the ones that might actually care. People reading my thoughts just because they're bored is a little scary (by this definition, facebook blurbs don't count as thoughts, as facebook itself runs on boredom). I don't think I would handle fame well; how very un-dandy of me.

Halloween is approaching, and for the first time in years, I'm not slacking! My costume is actually coming together, and it's exciting. I'm gogo dancing at the Grimm Fairy Tale Ball on saturday, and thus have had to re-imagine it for minimal sweating (goodbye corset, hello sham-wow mask-lining). Other plans are still falling into place, but it's feeling good.

Tomorrow, there's an event at the Hustler store in promotion of the Rocky Horror porn...and due to a friend who I met just once at a cemetery movie, I'm working at it as Magenta. I am terrified of two things: a) I hate talking to strangers, especially when they think it's appropriate to be flirty and b) they're providing the costumes. (But I'm borrowing Deb's wig, thank gods). I'm terrified it will be the Fox-in-bag costumes, in which case, my sympathies to Chelsea, cause the Columbia one is even worse. Regardless, I do think it will be fun, otherwise I wouldn't have volunteered to do it (we get paid in...toys). However, it may be the kind of "fun" that requires a flask. This may be the kind of thing that will deserve an Aesthetisexuality write-up.

On a different note, I'm determined to get schoolwork done now so that I don't have to think about it over the weekend. I have a small research paper due on Halloween, but I am officially taking the day off, thus trying to turn something in early for once. It's funny, my professor basically told the whole class that she had accepted that I wasn't coming on Halloween. Then apologized for judging me, to which I replied that she judged correctly. I've had really good luck with professors appreciating my weirdness. Even though this thing is on Oscar Wilde, I cannot focus. Well, as you can see, I'm on livejournal. Moving along...
