(OK i have a feeling that this one is going to be long... but its totally worth reading! lol)... if you are to lazy to read it all heres the link to the pics!...
http://community.webshots.com/album/408561274uNyGIi OK honestly the only way i can describe it is by using a quote peasoup once said to me "it makes me sad because i feel like the the climax of my life is over, like nothing can ever be that good again" -(talking about keith urban lol) ... well i feel the same way... except about world champs. Heres what happened:
So we get to montreal and find our hotel pretty easily (we only got lost once!) and then we decided to go to Old Port and look around at the little shops which was cool. There was a busker dude there who was giving out Hugs... if you wanted a hug you just went up and hugged him! ... it was totally cute. after that we decided to go back and start making our way to the pool.
the area that the pool is built makes it easiest for the athletes to take the metro to get there so thats what they all did! (imagine getting on the subway and standing next to the US national team!) unfortunately we were not that lucky but we did see these to girls who were like 6'2" and super skinny (totally swimmers) in front of us and so while we were on the escalator we looked at her deck pass (much to my protest b/c there was a security guard behind us lol) and we found out her name and then when we got to the pool we looked at the heat sheet and turns out she is the world record holder in 50 bk... so ya i guess shes pretty fast! lol
then after looking around for a while we went in to watch finals that night... we were supposed to be in the 7th row but there was no one on the end section so karly and i got to watch from the front row! and during warm-up we saw soooo many people, like ryan lochte (SOOOO hot!), katie hoff, kaitlin sandeno, mike brown, yannick lol etc. etc... the session was good, people were fast and the medal presentations were awesome...
so after the session we were about to go back when we saw all these swimmers coming out... so just in case we decided to stay for a while, but really thinking we were not going to see anyone... when all of a sudden, i look up the stairs adn think that i see aaron peirsol... karly almost punched me in the face b/c she thought that i was being mean lol but it turns out it was him! he came down and we asked him for an autograph, which he very cutely said "suuuuure!" and then we wished him luck for the next night which he actually really seemed to appreciate.. adn then he broke the world record the next night... coincidence?? i think not! lol
so we stayed around for a little while longer and saw laszlo cseh (soooo adorable) and got a pic with him, and kaitlin sandeno (who is honestly the nicest person who could ever meet, shes sooo down to earth adn even let us hold her medal!! (which her mom was dangling and taking a million pics of lol)), we also got a pic with katie hoff, adn saw tons of other people; ian crocker was there but was on the phone so we didnt ask, ryan lochte, klete keller, natalie coughlin, etc, also came out but we were satisfied with the ones we met. the only one that we didnt come out that night was phelpsie but we had seen him when he got off the subway so it was ok lol
the next day we went back to watch heats which was ok, the first heats always sucked.... aka we were faster than they were lol, and we sat beside this OSG guy from the netherlands who was done for the week, then we went home and since we had had such a high from the weekend... took adn extreme low lol where we didnt talk adn just like slept for a while... in conclusion: the weekend was OSG OSG OSG!
Here is our 'top 5' list: Aaron Peirsol, then Phelps and Laszlo tied for second, Ryan Lochte, adn then Philippo Magnini from italy
