Some of Sweden's finest
Talked to wintersdancer on twitter today about Broder Daniel and came to the conclusion that I had to make a post with SWEDISH music because we have so much good music.
This will just be a handful though, and pretty much only artists that’s been active the last 10years. I’ll comment the artists/songs a little but not too much because I don’t have time for this but…
Alice B - Vi Har Ingenstans Att Ta Vägen (We have nowhere to go)
This lady is from Goteborg ♥
The song is about living in a unhealthy relationship but not having the strength to end it even though it would be the best for both parts or that’s my interpretation.
Alina Devecerski - Flytta På Dig (Move Away)
This is a song I never thought I’d grow to like as much as I do ♥
This is about fighting with yourself, about how you sometimes can be a hinder for yourself. How a tiny voice inside your head can tell you not to do something that you really want to do.
Amanda Jensen - Happyland
This lady came second in Swedish Idol 2007. She has a very special voice that I love ♥
The Ark - It Takes A Fool To Remain Sane
Sadly, The Ark disbanded last year with the reason that they now have families and children. They can no longer live by the the thought that once was the reason they started the band - that everything could end tomorrow. Now they have to believe in a bright future.
Broder Daniel - Shoreline
Swedish indie pop from Göteborg. No longer active but still very loved ♥ if you’ve seen the Swedish movie Fucking Åmål then you have heard some of their songs.
Danny Saucedo - In The Club
He’s such a sweetheart ♥ and he is great live too (which surprised me!) He came 6th in Swedish Idol 2006.
Erik Hassle - Don’t bring Flowers
I’m not a big fan of his but all the songs I’ve heard of him I love and especially this song.
Trivia: My sister and friends ran into him on a black club in LA last week. They ended up jamming together with him in her apartment.

HÅKAN HELLSTRÖM! I love this man like omg and therefore I’m posting 3 songs by him.
He is just perfect in all his imperfectness. There’s something about his lyrics and his music and his voice that touches me and I am not alone in this. He has a big fan base and people of all ages loves him. Before going solo in early 00’s he was in Broder Daniel. I’ve seen him live 7 or 8 times and every time has been a wonderful experience. The only times I have ever cried during a concert has been when I’ve watched him ♥
Håkan Hellström - Känn Ingen Sorg För Mig Göteborg (Don’t feel any sorrow for me, Göteborg)
This was Håkan’s debute song as a solo artist. The song is basically about trying to escape the reality or fleeing from the life you live.

Kapten Röd - Ju mer dom spottar på mig (The more they spit on me)
I discovered this guy last summer (2011) and I love him. Swedish reggae from Göteborg.
He sings about how to treasure your real friends and don’t give a shit about people who try to push you down.
“The more they spit on me, the quicker I’ll bloom.”
Laleh - Live Tomorrow
This lady is nothing but awesome. Born in Iran but grown up in Göteborg.
Little Marbles - Du är på repeat (You are on repeat)
I discovered this duo just this spring and already have I seen them live twice. And this song has been on repeat plenty of times and I have a crush on both of them. They're so beautiful and talented ♥
This is about loving someone that doesn’t realize that you love them. The person is simply on repeat in your head and you think so hard about the person that you think they should be able to hear it.
I recommend you to listen to their awesome cover of Fat Joe’s disgusting song Make It Rain. They were asked to make a cover of a song they liked but decided to do a cover of a song they detest.
Sahara Hotnights - The loneliest city of all
Great band, all chicks. Awesome song ♥
Timbuktu - Resten av ditt liv (The rest of your life)
I love, love, love, love this song and Timbuktu is just a great rapper.
This song is about being hurt, betrayed. To realize that the one you love is not who you thought he/she is and the anger you feel. How you wish everything bad to happen to this person.
